MBRC Masters have Fun too!

This past April, our MBRC Masters braved the weather during their annual Picnic Row to Oleta River State Park.

A pleasant scull, followed by a nice breakfast picnic, was enjoyed by two Intrepid quads. As they started their return across the Bay, a major squall came in from the south! Let’s just say their row back was a little exhilarating and very damp! Spirits remained high and the remainder of the row was back on flat water. Left with plenty of stories and memories, they won’t soon forget this year’s Picnic Row.

A number of Masters took part in the Sunshine States Regatta on June 2nd, at Nathan Benderson Park. Congratulations to: Abraham Issa – Gold in lightweight 1X, Silver in the over 50 open 1X; Vladimir Banjanic and Alexander Stojanovic – Gold in both the over 50 2X and open 2x; Sebastian Touzard (one of our juniors) – gold in the U19 1X and Lightweight open 2X, rowing with his Father Anthony (sculled under the Rowhouse banner).

In addition to these events, this past season was filled with early morning rows, followed by delicious breakfasts at the Club.  Thanks to Gabriella Touzard, we also had an in-house, fun ‘Regatta’ between crews picked at random. We’re looking forward to many more memorable rows, and fun gatherings – all usually centered around food, of course!
