Thank you for your inquiry about training at the Ronald W. Shane Center. The Center is located in Miami Beach on protected Indian Creek, which is part of the Intracoastal Waterway. We are two blocks from the ocean, and conveniently located for a wide range of hotels, shops and restaurants.
The Center was built in the early 1990s and just completed an
ambitious expansion project.
We currently host over 30 organizations for winter
and spring training, in addition to our home crews from the University of Miami,
Barry University and the Miami Beach Rowing Club. We are also proud to host the Olympic teams of several countries training for
Beijing.
Rates for 2008-2009
Organization registration $200.00 per trailer
Dock Fees per athlete per day $4.00 per day
Crew Boat Rental per boat per day (subject to availability) $100.00 per day

Rental per set per day (subject to availability)
$15.00
Motor Boat, Gas included $100.00 per day
We require either 40% of the total fees or the $200
registration fee, whichever is greater, to be paid in advance as a
non-refundable deposit. The balance should be paid on arrival. We also require
signed waivers and complete group rosters from everyone including coaches, and proof of your
organization’s liability insurance.
Plan to store your equipment on your trailer, as
space is limited. We have a meeting room and a weight room with ergs, both of
which can be booked for your crews, if available. Please speak to Elaine, the
Center’s Director or Francisco, our Head Coach for a time slot.
We have negotiated special contract rates with
several hotels within walking distance of the Center. Please contact Elaine for more information on hotel reservations or any
